An F-35C Joint Strike Fighter had a “landing mishap” on the deck of Air Carrier in the South China Sea.

The F-35C Lightning II, which is assigned to Carrier Air Wing 2, was conducting routine flight operations in the South China Sea when the mishap occurred. The plane’s pilot, “safely ejected”.

Seven sailors were injured, with three sent to a medical facility in Manila, Philippines, Presumably, due to the airplane sliding off the deck by the impact. The pilot seems to be short on final and adds the full power but strikes the ramp.

The United States Navy is making arrangements to recover the aircraft.

The video seems to be shot from the fantail (O). The plane strikes the ramp (X) short on the landing. Tries to compensate with full power but too late.
